Is there even a point in watching the Raiders if Jamarcus Russell is playing? The answer is a simple no. I have refused to watch much of the Raider games over the past few seasons because there is simply no point. Watching Jamarcus steer the Raiders ship is like watching Kathy Geiss run GE on 30 Rock. The funniest thing about this is that the Raiders actually have a pretty stellar team without Russell.
All Pro quarterbacks such as Steve Young and Joe Theismann have simply ripped Russell a new one. My favorite quote came from Theismann, “I can tell you conclusively that JaMarcus Russell never will be able to play QB in the National Football League. He just doesn’t get it.” I don’t think I could sum it up any better myself.
I don’t care how much money you have tied up in him, cut him or have a fire sale. There is nothing to hold on to.
